The Door

Director: Juanita Wilson

The theme of most of the movies these days is risking everything for the people/thing you love the most and this 2010 Oscar nominated short film is not any different. But the actual difference is the heart that has been put in the production of the film. A personalized fiction about the Chernobyl nuclear’ accident’ and how it changed the lives of people around it.

A man steals a door. There is no Why and Where to it until the very end of the movie. What seems to be a totally pointless and absurd thing gains meaning as the story progresses and gives a purpose to it all.

‘The Door’ is dark, yes, but the haunting factor grabs the attention, so much so that it leaves a lasting impression on the memory long after you’ve watched it.

Reel Value: 7.4/10
